PALMDALE - Fifteen marijuana plants were found growing in a fenced garden at a junk-filled compound after deputies, following a tip arrested an ex-convict wanted by the FBI on a federal narcotics charge, a prison parolee and a third man.

CLOSING DOORS - The Vons supermarket at the corner of 20th Street West and Avenue J will close Aug. 15 due to the Valley's weakened economy. The market's employees will be transferred to different Vons locations in the Antelope Valley.
